Day 4 & 5

Edinburgh to Inverness our first stop and first drop of rain ☔️ St Andrews. It was wet and cold but we managed to watch a few American’s  tee off nothing great I must add. Russell will now be golfing in his St Andrew’s cap can’t say it will improve the game. It was then onto Inverness and our B&B which was wonderful - 2 out of 2 Louisa our booking agent. (Photo posted)
From Inverness it was then to Mey via Tongue &Talmine Bay the birthplace of Russell’s grandfather (the photograph of the stone building with the falling down roof). We were truly in Sutherland territory. Next stop Dunnet Head the most northerly point in mainland Britain then onto John O’ Groats- real tourist Meka considered the most North easterly place in Britain but Dunnet Head is the furthest from  Lands End. In Mey we stayed in a local hotel 3 out of 3 Louisa. Great fun sat in the bar and played 500 then dinner
From Mey we then returned to Inverness via Dunrobin Castle home of the Sutherland Clan. Here I managed to purchase some Sutherland tartan in the form of a scarf and some Christmas memorabilia for my tree. Then it was off to search for the Lochness Monster oh is that a tourist trap but one we had to buy into. Loving our time together with lots of banter in our van & Matt doing a great job driving.
